During the summer of 2022, I dedicated an intensive month to the Bio Art Residency at SVA’s Bio Lab. At about the same time, I entered into Riso printing at SVA RISO Lab. I started riso printing the microscopic images I took, making them into duotone images and displaying them as a part of my residency open show. After the show, I looked at my pile of single-sided prints, couldn’t bear to discard them, and thought I should transform them into something more memorable. Something I could share with others about my time at the Bio-Art residency while showing the endless possibilities of independent publishing. I juxtaposed photography, text and drawn silhouettes as spot colors on the back of larger microscope prints, then cut and assembled so that each zine is very varied. The zine gives a guide through the activities throughout the month and at the Bio Lab. Residency fellows are cited.
